Superintendent's Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Albertville City Schools website. I hope you will take advantage of the revisions we have made to make it more user-friendly. The system calendar has been revised to show all activities taking place in the school system. I hope this helps with overall planning.

Our high school renovation project is progressing on track. In September, we will open the fine arts building. The new academic wing should be ready for the 2010/2011 school year. The new gymnasium project will start in November. Plans are being developed to totally renovate the track and all of the outlying grounds.

We have expanded our foreign language programs by offering Rosetta Stone at the middle school. This program is also available to the public at a greatly reduced rate through our Community Education Center. Our high school students have increased opportunities through the addition of a partnership with the aviation program, increased dual enrollment classes, and credit recovery classes.

Our school system has implemented a balanced scorecard approach to the management of our strategic plan. This helps us to monitor all aspects of our performance. It gives the public a clear picture of all of the initiatives our school system has undertaken.

Albertville is a wonderful community. The support the school system receives is phenomenal. We encourage you to continue to be involved, and we will continue to push ourselves towards excellence.
