Dual EnrollmentAlbertville High School offers Dual Enrollment classes from Snead State Community College. The following is a listing of Dual Enrollment requirements for the 2009-2010 school year. Dual Enrollment • Passed the ninth grade • Passed all the required parts of the AHSGE • A “B” average • Approval of the principal and superintendent (Guidance Office completes this) • 20 ACT in English and Math or COMPASS • Completed admissions application to Snead • A signed agreement to take both semesters of the dual enrollment course • Students are required to pay the current rate for tuition and books at Snead State Community College • Enrollment in these classes may be limited based on availability of instructors • Weighted 10 points each 9 week grading period and Semester Test Dual EnrollmentDual Enrollment Biology
(Biology 103/104) • Does not take the place of Biology • May be taken by students in grades 11 or 12 Dual Enrollment English (English 101/102) • Counts as Grade 12 English Dual Enrollment Spanish (Spanish 101/102) • DE Spanish gives credit for Spanish I • Students on the advanced diploma must take Spanish II to complete the foreign language requirement • DE SPANISH DOES NOT COUNT AS SPANISH II • Students may take Dual Enrollment Spanish in grade 10, 11, or 12 Dual Enrollment US History (History 201/202) • If DE History is taken in the eleventh grade, it counts as the eleventh grade history; if it is taken in the twelfth grade, it will count as an elective • DE US HISTORY DOES NOT SUBSTITUTE FOR AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AND ECONOMICS • Students may take DE History in Grade 11 or 12 Dual Enrollment Math (Math 112/113) • Prerequisite: Algebra II/Trig and appropriate math placement score on ACT or COMPASS • Counts as Pre-Calculus if needed or Math Elective Dual Enrollment Psychology – ONLINE (Psychology 200) • DE Psychology is an elective 1⁄2 credit • May be taken by students in grades 11 or 12 • May not be taken in the same semester as DE Sociology • Enrollment is based upon availability at SSCC Dual Enrollment Sociology – ONLINE (Sociology 200) • DE Sociology is an elective 1⁄2 credit • May be taken by students in grades 11 or 12 • May not be taken in the same semester as DE Psychology • Enrollment is based upon availability at SSCC |
