Albertville High School’s drama students also claimed a number of awards at the district competition in the 85th annual Walter S. Trumbauer High School Theatre Festival., including “Best in Show” honors for their one-act play. Their top-five Best in Show finish at state made them state champions.

Albertville Aggie Cheer is turning heads and making history! The Aggies Cheer team competed on Monday, Nov. 10 at the AHSAA State finals in Birmingham and came home the 7A State Champions.

Albertville City Schools is proud to share this year’s Alabama State Report Card results and to celebrate the incredible progress happening across the district. Over the past two years, schools in Albertville have demonstrated consistent and significant academic growth. 

For the first nine weeks of the school year, Superintendent Bart Reeves told the Albertville City Board of Education the system’s chronic absenteeism showed a marked improvement over the first nine weeks in 2024 at all schools.

The Albertville Board of Education approved using the same architectural firm that designed Albertville Primary and Albertville Elementary schools to plan its next new school, which will serve kindergarten and first-grade students.

Two retired educators and a physician made up the latest class of the Albertville High School Alumni Hall of Fame. Joyce Bishop, Paul McAbee and Dr. Christopher J. Thrash were inducted into the Hall of Fame on Sept. 12.

The Albertville Board of Education approved a five-year capital plan, as required by the state, that includes plans to acquire land and construct new facilities to accommodate the school system’s growth.

The Albertville City School Board held a special called board meeting on Thursday evening to announce multiple new hires. Among the new hires were two familiar names in Marshall County, as Paul Woodruff will return as the new head softball coach for the Lady Aggies, and Kenny Chaffin will join Albertville as an assistant athletic director and head coach of the Albertville Middle School football team. 

The Albertville High School Fine Arts Center hosted the ‘Meet the Coach’ event on Monday evening. The event allowed the Albertville community to get to meet and chat with new Aggie head football coach Adam Winegarden. During the event, Winegarden spoke on numerous topics that included his mission and vision for the program, his expectations and the standards that he expects student athletes to uphold.
