The Albertville Aggie Band will add another accomplishment to their amazing year, as the band has been invited to perform in the 2025 Presidential Parade on January 20, 2025.

The Aggie Band started their year on a high note when they visited Pasadena to perform in the 135th annual Rose Parade. The band also celebrated the opening of a brand-new band room that could hold more students and equipment.

Dr. Taylor Cash, Band Director at Albertville High School, revealed that the students are honored to participate in the parade and to represent Alabama.

“Our students were beside themselves when they found out about this opportunity. They are all honored to represent our state on the national level. We’re excited to take about 350 kids with us. This was really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us. To be a part of such a big event and history, we are very excited. We are going to bring about eight-to-ten buses full of our kids headed to the Nation’s Capital,” Cash said.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and the hard work they have done to be recognized with this national invitation.  We have had an incredible year, so to continue to make memories for our students is really what it is all about.”

“I think this selection continues to show the amazing things happening in Albertville, AL. Many people have come to learn about Albertville through the exceptional achievements of our Albertville City Schools students around our state and country.”

The selection to perform at the 2025 Inauguration Parade will be the first time ever for the Aggie band.

“We are thrilled for our students to get this chance of a lifetime to perform in our Nation’s Capital. This will be the first time for the Aggie Band to perform for an Inauguration, so any time we can have a “first” for our students and the legacy of our band program, it is a huge honor. We are really excited to put these students on television in front of millions of people from around the world. We’ll hope you tune in and wish us luck on this once in a lifetime opportunity,” Cash said.

The Aggie Band plans to hold six rehearsals before the parade on Jan. 20.

“We will have a total of 6 rehearsals for this parade.  Of course, that is assuming that mother nature cooperates with us and allows us to get outside.”

Cash thanked many representatives of Albertville for the support and the opportunity to participate and perform at the Inauguration Parade.

“We always like to take the opportunity to thank the administration of Albertville High School, Albertville City Schools, The City of Albertville and our City Council and Board of Education.  Without the support from the top down, these types of opportunities do not happen.  I would like to specifically thank our Superintendent, Dr. Bart Reeves, for his continuous and unwavering support of not only the Aggie Band, but also the success of every student in ACS.  We would also like to thank all of the state officials that had a role in creating this opportunity for the Albertville Band Program,” Cash said.
