Albertville High School celebrated cutting the ribbon on their brand-new band hall. The new band hall was needed due to the constant growth of the Aggie band. The extra space will be used to hold more students with their instruments and extra needs.
Bart Reeves, Albertville City Schools superintendent, believes the new band hall will allow the Albertville High School band to grow.
“What a week to be an Aggie. It has been a busy, but great week. We had a great facility for our band, but our band outgrew it. Now our band has this fine new facility that any band in America would love to have. We need to credit former superintendent Dr. English who approved that contract. All of you have supporters that have been behind this. This is a wonderful thing for our kids. This new space will allow our kids to grow even more,” Reeves said.
Taylor Cash, director of bands at Albertville High School, is thankful for the new band hall.
“I don’t think thank you really puts it into words. For the students, I have a lot of passion in making sure that they understand the history of where we come from. I am thankful to the community, to the administration and everyone that had a part in making this happen. We really wanna make sure the kids understand that. They think that this is normal. They have a limited scope on band rooms in the world and they think this is normal that every band has a room like this. With all of that being said, we appreciate everyone that has a part in doing this.
“This space is beautiful and we fill this room up. To think back to last year, we were literally crammed in a room that is now large. To unpack in that and now fill this space up and have space to put history on the wall, like former uniforms on the wall from the past years. It is to recognize everyone that came here before us. Everything has a place now. Thank you everyone for supporting the band,” Cash said.
