Conner Appointed to Albertville City School Board

The Albertville City Council met for their first regular council meeting on Tuesday where they discussed four items on the agenda. The biggest item on the agenda was the appointment of Jon Conner to the Albertville City School Board. Conner will replace Bobby Stewart who has served 20 years on the school board.
“I am feeling pretty good, looking forward to this opportunity,” Conner said. “I am excited to serve the community and just be a part of the excellence we have going on here. I am hoping to implement knowledge into that to help us continue to grow and also support our great school system.”

The Albertville Board of Education selected its officers for the 2026-27 school year, voting for President Melissa McKee and Vice President Annie Furrer to continue in those roles.

History was written Saturday inside Plunkett-Wallace Gymnasium at Snead State Community College.

The Albertville City School Board met for the first time of the year on Tuesday, where Superintendent Dr. Bart Reeves thanked the board for their service in recognition of School Board Appreciation Month.

Albertville High School’s drama students also claimed a number of awards at the district competition in the 85th annual Walter S. Trumbauer High School Theatre Festival., including “Best in Show” honors for their one-act play. Their top-five Best in Show finish at state made them state champions.

Albertville Aggie Cheer is turning heads and making history! The Aggies Cheer team competed on Monday, Nov. 10 at the AHSAA State finals in Birmingham and came home the 7A State Champions.
