Breakfast and Lunch

Great news for Albertville families! Breakfast and lunch will be free for all Albertville City Schools students again this year! Thanks to the Community Eligibility Program (CEP), there is no paperwork to complete and no income requirements. Every student, every day, will have access to nutritious meals at no cost.

Transportation

Will your student ride a bus?

  • Returning bus riders in grades 1-12 will verify their transportation information during orientation.
  • If you are a new student in grades 1-12, please complete the bus application and bring it with you to orientation.
  • Has your address changed? You will need to complete the bus application and bring it with you to orientation.
  • Kindergarten students will receive more information and a form to complete in order to ride the bus at orientation.

Focus Act

In accordance with Alabama’s FOCUS Act (§16-6K and §16-40-13, Ala. Code 1975), Albertville City Schools has implemented a district-wide Wireless Communication Device Policy to support student learning, safety and engagement. Under this law, students are not permitted to use or possess cell phones or other wireless devices during the instructional day unless authorized by a documented educational or medical plan. This policy is designed to minimize distractions in the classroom and help create a focused, respectful learning environment for all students. We appreciate the partnership of our families in supporting this effort.

More information about this new policy will be shared soon. In the meantime, students should keep all wireless communication devices powered off and stored in their backpacks during the school day. Failure to follow this policy may result in disciplinary action as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.

We understand that parents may want to be in contact with their child during the day, and we want to reassure you that student safety is always our top priority. If a student needs to reach a parent or if a parent needs to reach their child, our school offices are always available to help facilitate that communication. We’re asking families to support this policy as we work to create a more focused and distraction-free learning environment for every student.
