Child Nutrition

Welcome to the Albertville City Schools Child Nutrition Program (CNP)! The mission of our Child Nutrition Program supports our system's educational goal to provide Albertville students with excellent experiences while in our care. We know that students who are well-fed are ready to learn, making it our responsibility to provide all students with high-quality, nutritious and appealing meals each time they come through our cafeterias.  As we serve our students daily, we will happily do so in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.

At ACS, breakfast and lunch are provided to all students at no cost.

At Albertville City Schools, we offer breakfast and lunch meals to our students, all of which meet nutritional requirements for children as set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Meals are provided to students in an “offer vs. serve” format, which allows them to decline up to two food items on the tray. A fruit or vegetable serving is required at both meals in order to meet specific federal nutrition guidelines set by the USDA. By meeting the established criteria, ACS remains eligible to receive financial reimbursement from the government.

Student Account Information

Linq Connect is where parents can load money onto student accounts, set payment reminders, view transaction history and set spending limits for their child.  You will be able to link all your children together on one page.  All you need are their names and birthdates to get started! The only money that students will need on their account this year is to pay for additional à la carte items (chips, ice cream, etc.) or for extra meal portions if desired.  All students who come through our lines will be provided one full meal for both breakfast and lunch at no charge.

The Linq Connect website will have online versions of our school menus, which includes nutritional information. Printed copies will be available upon request.

Meal Charge Policy

All students will be provided with one free breakfast and one free lunch meal each day at no charge through Albertville City Schools participation in the Community Eligibility Provision program. Students will not have the need to charge meals while our school system is participating in this program. Students have the ability to  purchase extra portions or à la carte items for an additional charge. Funds must be available either in hand or in the student's account in order to purchase these items. Cafeteria staff cannot complete a transaction that creates a negative balance in order to purchase additional items.

  • All adults, including teachers, school staff, and visitors are unable to charge meals or à la carte items.
  • Money must be available in hand or in the staff member's account to complete all lunchroom transactions. Money can be added to any student or staff member's account directly at our registers or via our online payment system at www.lingconnect.com.

Special Dietary Concerns

Does your child have a food allergy or dietary restriction? Be sure to read this letter and complete the Diet Prescription for Meals at School Form. This paperwork must be updated yearly. Also, if your child previously had a dietary restriction but no longer requires certain food(s) to be omitted from their diet, please let us know.
