Secretary of State Wes Allen Attends Albertville High School Aggie Band Pre-Rose Parade Preparation

Albertville — Secretary of State Wes Allen attended the Albertville High School Band’s Pre-Rose Parade preparation on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.  

“I’m proud of the hard work and dedication of all of these students,” said Secretary Allen. “Being a part of the Rose Parade is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I know they will represent our state well.” 

"We are honored to welcome Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen to our high school campus as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Aggie Band,” said Albertville City Schools Superintendent Dr. Bart Reeves. “Their upcoming performance in the Rose Parade on Jan. 1 is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and the entire school community.”  

The Albertville High School Aggie band, comprising over 330 students, will march in the 135th Rose Parade on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, California. The band is number 55 in the parade lineup. This is the group’s third time participating in the Rose Parade. 

“We appreciate the Secretary of State taking the time to encourage and inspire the Aggie Band. We are also grateful to him for recognizing the exceptional talent and commitment of our band members. Taking the time to personally engage with them boosts their morale and reinforces the value of their contributions to our community," said Dr. Reeves. 

Secretary Allen and his wife Cae are both graduates of The University of Alabama, where he was a walk-on wide receiver for the Crimson Tide football team and Cae was the Head Crimsonette for the Million Dollar Band.
