DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS
 
Special Education records which have been collected by the Albertville City School System related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement or the provision of Special Education in the district must be maintained under state and federal laws for a period of five years after Special Education services have ended for the student.  Special Education services end when the students no longer is eligible for services, graduates, completes his or her educational program at age 21 or moves from the district.
This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Albertville City School Systems intent to destroy the Special Education records of students who are no longer receiving Special Education services as of the end of the 2007-2008 school year or prior years. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school system otherwise.
The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records in writing or in person at the following address:

All requests must be made by May 31, 2013. After that date, all records will be destroyed.

  • Award-winning band and choral programs, with opportunities to compete and travel- including the Aggie Band's trip to march in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA in January 2011
  • Teachers K-12 encouraged to integrate lessons with a focus on technology.  Students use MacBooks, interactive boards, iPod carts, blogs and websites to enhance learning
  • Office of School Readiness (OSR) and Migrant Pre-Kindergarten classes at ACLC, serving 72 four-year-old students
  • 21st CCLC Grant awarded for FY11 - $150,000 each year to enhance after school offerings grades 1-4, including tutoring and enrichment classes
